Information icon Hello Qaei. Thanks for patrolling new pages – it's a very important task! I'm just letting you know, however, that there is consensus that we shouldn't tag pages as lacking context (CSD A1) and/or content (CSD A3) moments after they are created. It is also suggested that pages that might meet CSD A7 criteria not be tagged for deletion immediately after they are created. It's usually best to wait at least 10–15 minutes for more content to be added if the page is very short, and the articles should not be marked as patrolled. Tagging such pages in a very short space of time may drive away well-meaning contributors, which is not good for Wikipedia. Attack pages (G10), blatant nonsense (G1), copyright violations (G12) and pure vandalism/blatant hoaxes (G3) should of course still be tagged and deleted immediately. Thanks. Excellence

Hi Qaei. Many many heartiest thanks to you for awarding me the award of excellency. It is been real pleasure to contribute with my knowledge to any aspect of the English Wikipedia. Counting on that in the future as well. Cheers. Gihan Jayaweera (talk) 7:01, 13 February 2016 (UTC)

@Gihan Jayaweera: No problem! You deserve it! Qaei 16:16, 13 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Anan Shetty requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Rollback granted

I have granted the "rollbacker" permission to your account. After a review of some of your contributions, I believe you can be trusted to use rollback for its intended usage of reverting vandalism, and that you will not abuse it by reverting good-faith edits or to revert-war. For information on rollback, see Wikipedia:Administrators' guide/Rollback and Wikipedia:Rollback feature. If you do not want rollback, contact me and I will remove it. Good luck and thanks. -- Samtar talk · contribs 10:22, 15 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Replaceable fair use File:MickhucknallHD.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:MickhucknallHD.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. — Train2104 (t • c) 23:43, 16 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image File:ThrillMeSingle.jpg

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:ThrillMeSingle.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Iazyges Consermonor Opus meum 06:04, 17 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

16:18:56, 17 February 2017 review of submission by Wilwyg

There is also an article on CBS New York that we just found. Could you let me know if that helps? Here is the link. http://newyork.cbslocal.com/2011/04/10/nj-jazz-prodigys-musical-talents-an-inspiration-to-younger-generations/ Thanks!

@Wilwyg: Any more notable articles will certainly help your article, but one of the main things that concerns me with your article is that is doesn't achieve the appropriate standard expected when formatting an article. Take a look at other articles to get some idea on how to achieve that. If that doesn't help, I would suggest sending us a message here to get some help from some experienced content creators (not one of my specialities). Thanks! Why the revert on Sredni Vashtar?

Hi Qaei. I see my edit on Sredni Vashtar was reverted as not constructive? Can I know why? All I did was mention that the short story implies Conradin's guardian, Mrs. de Ropp, also dislikes Conradin, even though she doesn't admit it to herself. The relevant quote from the story is

"Mrs. de Ropp would never, in her honestest moments, have confessed to herself that she disliked Conradin, though she might have been dimly aware that thwarting him "for his good" was a duty which she did not find particularly irksome"

It is pretty clear Mrs. de Ropp dislikes Conradin, or otherwise there wouldn't be anything for her to "confess" to herself. If you're familiar with Saki's style of writing, the implication is doubly clear.

Maybe the revert wasn't done because what I wrote was counterfactual, but because it wasn't relevant? I'd disagree; it's as needed to explain their mutual relationship as is Conradin's dislike of her guardian.

edit: I see the revert reason was "test/vandalism". Ummm, what? 190.194.206.43 (talk) 23:18, 17 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
